The first Earth Day was celebrated April 22, 1970 by Gaylord Nelson, U.S. senator from Wisconsin after witnessing the 1969 oil spill off the coast of California. Over the last 48 years, the movement has garnered attention from countries around the globe and in 2009 it officially became an international Earth Day.
Celebrations and environmental actions take place worldwide to pay homage to our planet. Since Earth Day occurs during our spring season, what better way to celebrate then to hang a QMT Windchime to hear the wind sing from your front or back yard?
As the world celebrates Earth Day and the Northern Hemisphere prepares for the spring and summer seasons, take time to focus on what you can do to support planet heath. If you have an Earth Day supporter, help them celebrate with the new Lakeshore Melodies wind chime and commemorate the occasion.
