Happy Fathers Day

There are many reasons to celebrate Father’s Day. As I write about my own Daddy I will try not to gush (too much). Before acquiring QMT, my dad was the manager for a construction company. He worked many long days, leaving the house before my brother and I were awake and sometimes coming home after we were already in bed. Despite a busy schedule, he always made time for us. His job wasn’t glamorous and making ends meet was priority, but Daddy always provided for us. I cherish the memories he created in my heart. His greatest gift was showing us that he was as happy to see me as I was to see him.

Wonderful memories: I remember “bring your child to work days” with big burley construction crew guys wearing McDonalds happy meal key chains as earrings to make me laugh. I remember visiting Daddy and going in the back break room and eating boiled peanuts together. I remember sitting in the middle of white company pick-up truck singing “Five O’clock somewhere”. After acquiring QMT, I remember coming with him to check on the buildings at 2am when the security system called. I remember reminding him sometimes to separate work from home and take a break.

Fathers do a lot for the people they love. There are many fathers at QMT. Likewise, single moms who manage to work their jobs, and find time to be mother and father to their children, as well. Every family is different and Father’s Day means many things to the many different people in the world.

As we celebrate all of the fathers of the world who so many things for all of us, I would like to remind you to take a moment to think about the amazing things your own Daddy has done for you. Keep those memories in your heart as you decide on ways to let him know how much he means to you.
